Making Waves in Sustainability: Highly Commended at the 2025 Sustainability Awards
We’re thrilled to share some exciting news from the team here at Fish City — we’ve been awarded Highly Commended in the Food & Drink Company of the Year category at the 2025 Business Eye Sustainability & ESG Awards!
The prestigious black-tie event took place on Thursday, 15th May, at the beautiful Culloden Estate & Spa, bringing together over 300 business leaders, innovators, and changemakers from across Northern Ireland. From large corporates to ambitious SMEs, the awards celebrated organisations making real, measurable progress in environmental, social, and governance practices.
Business Eye is the leading business magazine serving the Northern Ireland marketplace. Sponsored by respected organisations such as Bank of Ireland, Queen’s University Business School, Maxol, Millar McCall Wylie, The Open University Faculty of Business & Law, Diageo, and Bauer Media, this year's awards highlighted the incredible strides being made across industries to build a more sustainable and responsible future.
At Fish City, sustainability isn’t just a buzzword — it’s the foundation of everything we do. As the first Marine Stewardship Council (MSC)-certified sustainable seafood restaurant on the island of Ireland, we’re proud to be recognised for our ongoing commitment to ethical sourcing, transparency, and environmental responsibility.
Every ingredient on our menus is chosen with care. Our seafood dishes crafted with at least 95% MSC-certified sustainable seafood are clearly marked for our customers to see. We believe that exceptional food should not come at the cost of our oceans or our future— and this award acknowledges that mission.
We’d like to thank the Business Eye judging panel for this honour, and extend our congratulations to all of the inspiring finalists and winners from the night. Recognition like this motivates us to keep pushing the boundaries of sustainable dining and to continue proving that great taste and environmental responsibility go hand-in-hand.
