Fish City in Belfast has been named as one of the UK’s 10 Best Fish & Chip Restaurants 2022/2023 - the only dine-in fish and chip establishment in Northern Ireland to make the prestigious list.

A Northern Ireland restaurant was recently honoured at the National Fish and Chip Awards as they were named ‘Restaurant of the Year’.

NIE Networks have congratulated Fish City, the winners of the Best Green Business Award at the Women in Business Awards 2023. The company sponsored the Award for Best Green Business and Derek Hynes, Managing Director, was in attendance to present Fish City with their award.

The winners of this year’s National Fish & Chip Awards were announced at an exclusive awards ceremony in London on Tuesday, celebrating the very best in fish and chips.

This year’s Awards, now in their 11th year, brought together female entrepreneurs and businesswomen from all sectors to recognise, reward and celebrate the very best of local talent at the only ceremony of its kind in Northern Ireland.

The winners of this year’s National Fish & Chip Awards have been announced at an exclusive awards ceremony in London today, celebrating the very best in fish and chips. 

Fish City in Belfast has been named Restaurant of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023. The family-owned restaurant, which won the Health and Nutrition Catey in 2019, was recognised at a ceremony organised by the National Federation of Fish Fryers (NFFF).

The only establishment across Northern Ireland nominated across all categories, Fish City took home the title of 'Restaurant of the Year' and 'Environment and Sustainability Champion'. Announcing the win, the NFFF said: "The winner for the Fish & Chip Restaurant of the Year category is Fish City, they have been chosen for outstanding customer service, and commitment to environmental and sustainability."

A Belfast restaurant has won ‘Restaurant of the Year’ at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023. Fish City was up against stiff competition from venues around the UK, but it walked away with two awards.

Fish City, a family-owned seafood and fish & chip restaurant in Belfast city centre, was announced as the winner of the Environment & Sustainability Award and as the UK’s Fish & Chip Restaurant of the Year at the National Fish & Chip Awards, held in London on the 28th February 2023.

A Belfast fish and chip shop has been nominated for two top accolades at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023. Running for over thirty years, the National Fish and Chip Awards is the largest UK-wide event that raises standards across the industry and supports the fish and chip related businesses.

Fish City in Belfast, County Antrim has gained its place amongst the UK’s top fish and chip shops by achieving the prestigious NFFF Quality Accreditation sponsored by Sarsons Vinegar.

Today, five fish and chip shops from around the UK have been shortlisted for the National Fish and Chip Awards 2023, ‘Restaurant of the Year’ category. The top five, located across Nottingham, Norfolk, Northern Ireland and Gloucestershire, has been whittled down following the top ten announcement, last month.

When outdoor dining became a requirement for a meal out during the pandemic, our hospitality industry got creative to give the people what they wanted in a safe and enjoyable fashion. And despite these restrictions being a thing of the past, this open and casual way of eating out has lived on in Belfast.
